So, as one tries to find information quickly…

Its very damn easy to generalize.

Don’t.

One of the reasons why Journalism is suffering is both the editors and their journalists preconceived bias.

That bias hurts more than it helps.

Many of the editors in these offices used to keep things on a even keel. The editors were Conservative, but many journalists liberal. So when a major story hit, the readers knowing that the editors were going to take the bias out of the journalists emotions. At times, the editors catch flack over issues concerning investigations of corporations (see Mr. Hersh and his issues with Gulf+Western), and things get choppy.

But the readers started to feel that the Journalists were at fault – for pushing the narrative. That’s was the fair argument to have – but you see, that is not just a bias the Journalists have, its the very way how they conduct and see their own life and that is very, very difficult to let go at a job, especially where one does the news, and especially in the age of click bait. It is also one of the reasons Public Relations (in advertising especially) has exploded because for that person, it not only fits their biases but the lifestyle that is apart of that biases! You cannot get somebody who doesn’t like anime as a whole to accurately want to say the positives of the genre. Instead they focused on the negative unless the Advertisers their company works for Promote a “safe” (as much as possible) Corporate Champion, or they try to change the genre to fit their notions of what animation as a whole should be, instead of promoting shows they want to promote and celebrate (they do with Steven Universe and PPG 2016 and went against Moe in The Mary Sue for example).

The editors of these sites realize that readers are overwhelmed, and so have tailored their sites to promote their own version of events and if they match, then they got a viewer…and in many cases they want to see you click and not even care too much of the content they are writing.

This problem started way back in elementary school decades ago, as the suburbs grew, and as everything changed – more and more work went into educating children to beat the likes of Japan and other Asian nations. Where the problem has nothing to do with the actual content of the work and everything to do with the way it was taught. The problem was that our generation became a testing board. And that everything had to reach a purity standard because every question had to be right. This isnt done so much in asia and flies in the face of what and how to educate a child.

One way to find out about who your researching, is to find out who his/her editor and who is their boss. Their boss has business and educational connections to similar schools. If that’s the case – find out the bosses are in another board of directors in another company and then see if their is any connections.

Also, and i mean this – be careful with those sites you do trust – because they may have histories of its own that are untrustworthy. Take everything your heroes and your foes write with a grain of salt. The great journalists of the past are dying, or dead and these ones and social critics that these journalists take as gospel need  to be look over with a fine tooth comb. Its the only way to be sure.
